Guess Who's Back
Well I'll be. Not sure what I'll be, not a monkey's uncle that's for sure albeit the correct idiom to express my shock and surprise at the fact that ... I am blogging again!
Bit like riding a bike, I'll wobble and bump my way back in - bear with me as I find my voice. Possibly a new one hey, as we have all grown and changed since I was last here. So much so, I find some of my earlier posts make me cringe! Although I do manage to resist the urge to edit them.

Sporadic Blogging Causes Mixed Posts
I'llllllll just casually drift right back into my blog shall I? Sneak in by the back door and start writing a post, hoping nobody noticed I've been gone.
Do you know, there's so damn much going on in the world right now; choosing what to write about when I do find the time very quickly uses that time .... so we end up with mixed posts like this one.
But that's okay, it can be kinda cool. Just look at all the topics we can cover in one post if we try.

Dear Readers (dramatic pause) I AM BACK!
Hello! *waves frantically* Anyone there? Gee, there's cobwebs everywhere and look at the dust...
I've been without a computer (other than my teeny, but awesome phone) since February and you won't believe how excited I am to be sitting in front of my (secondhand) new one now, typing with all of my fingers on an actual real keyboard!! Which makes me sound a bit archaic, I know - I should be blogging from my tab, no? But then I don't have one of those either so you can see why ANYTHING other than typing with my thumbs while squinting at a teeny tiny screen would be welcome.
Who knew I would miss the blogging world so much? Oh ... okay, I knew. Anyone that knows me could have figured it out too but yoh, it feels good to be back!
And after months away, you'd think I'd be bursting with post ideas, have notebooks full of notes and drafts huh? But it surprised me how much it effected me, knowing that I couldn't actually POST anything. I stopped wanting to write anything, went into a writing lull if you will. In fact, when I first sat down this morning I couldn't think what to say at all!

WeezaFish 2013: A Photo Review
Guys, I swear to you I have been sat here for the last hour deliberating over this post. Okay, to be fair I 'killed time' in between deliberating by catching up on some blog reading and Twittering a bit also. BUT STILL!
Isn't it the done thing? Doesn't EVERY SINGLE BLOGGER IN THE WORLD write a end of year review post? No?
I convinced myself that I hadn't done enough post writing to MAKE a year review. Can you imagine? "So january we, er ... didn't seem to do that much ... MARCH there was a Birthday! April, May ...no, June the dog got sick"
But guess what? I almost managed to post once every month last year so that excuse wasn't going to work.
I sat down and
Then I chastised myself for acting like a kid with three hours Maths homework to do and came up with this brilliant (and very lazy) idea to use photo's. Please understand, the time I have just saved myself (and you dear readers) will allow us ALL to do much, much, MUCH more exciting and valid things.

Just Writing
I've got three posts (yes, three) in my drafts and today I don't find myself wanting to finish any of them.
But I do want to write, so this could be interesting. I wonder what I'll write about? At this point ... I have no plan! Blogging by the seat of my pants.

And another post I read recently by Becca on 25toFly called 'Blogging Bureaucracy', in which Becca questions why and when the love for blogging and writing themselves, get overtaken by the want for a larger audience?
And so today, I just write ...

Caring and Sharing Social Media: And a Brand New Page
![]() |
| Totally unnecessary pic |
Possibly has something to do with the six squares of Dairy Milk I just found in my desk drawer and devoured. Who knows?
Either way I find myself with both time and internet (you don't know how rare that is) to bang a little post out, so to speak and I've been meaning to do just that for quite a while.

An Interesting Blog Award from The Reluctant Mom
Guess what? I won an Interesting Blog Award!!
Did I 'win'? I’m not
sure, it’s one of those very lovely awards bestowed from a fellow blogger and
personally, I like those types of awards more than most prizes. So as far as
I’m concerned, I won … yay!!
It’s come from one of those bloggers too. You know the really good
ones? The ones who win proper awards like “Best Blimmin’ Blog in South Africa
EVERRR” (can’t be sure of the wording). The bloggers that bloggers like me look
up to. One of THOSE.
The Reluctant Mom’s
blog was (not fibbing, I promise) the very first blog I started to read.
Because what do we all do when we first start blogging? We realise we need/want
to read others blogs too and we Google search “best blogs everrr”. Reluctant Mom came up and I’ve read her avidly ever since. She is a bit special and
awesomely ‘real’, so go check her out if you haven’t already. Really, don’t
delay. Her recent post of pics of Celebs, as they'd look if they were ordinary people. Man. You will need to empty your bladder first. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Christmas: Time for a Reshuffle. And Some Silly Pics
First things first. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! Sorry, it's gone 10 p.m. here on Boxing Day night so I'm a leeetle late with my Christmas post. How was yours?
I do hope filled with fun and overeating and joy and peace and all that.
I was woken up at just after 5 a.m. on the day and one of the first thoughts that occurred to me, after I'd told Tallen with croaky morning voice and through half-open eyes how AWESOME I thought his stocking presents were, was "Hooray, I can start me a blog post before everyone else wakes up" That's okay, right?
Just the fact that that is as far as I got with this post yesterday, which I now continue on Boxing Day evening, pees me right off.
I don't like it, and I hereby declare/promise/swear on my life that things are going to be better in 2013. I shall focus. And I shall write more.

New Business Ideas?: Where's Your Head at Woman!
Was that Basement Jaxx? I think it was. Video with monkeys. Whoever it was, I now have that tune as a kind of soundtrack to my blog post. In my head that is.
iPod's do that also, you ever thought this? Give us a kind of soundtrack to our daily lives when we're out walking or public transport-ing somewhere. You can even remove one ear piece when there's need for social interaction or conversation and you'll get a kind of fade out effect in your soundtrack, just like they use in the movies. Cooool.
And there, in the first two paragraphs of this blog post, lies my exact problem. Clear for all to see.
Where TF is my head at?

Two Birthdays, Two Links and Fifty Cup Cakes
Of the three men in my immediate family (Hubby and sons), two of them have Birthdays this month within three days of each other.
We are just a little bit Birthday crazy in the house right now and excitement is reaching levels usually reserved for Christmas Eve.
Eldest son, Tallen, will be turning five on Friday. In the UK this is the age kids start Primary School so it's a real milestone age to me, big boy now. Bless him, always my baby. And I say that in a balanced, non-smothering kind of way.
Special mention at this stage of preparations must go to Tallens Aunty, who baked more than FIFTY chocolate cupcakes for his party at school. She's also helping me organise Hubbys Birthday surprise belatedly for next weekend ... sshhh he might be reading. I'll tell you later.
Despite the Birthday mayhem (you ever tried to hide fifty cupcakes from a five year old?) and as promised, I hereby go links crazy on your fine arses (see how British I am? Arrr-ses) andbeg hope that you follow one or both for one of my latest Writes Elsewhere.
Before you roll your eyes, later this afternoon I'm also posting The Best Kids Movies Evvveeerrrr movies reviews, as chosen by two year old Nate. Although I may shorten the title so Google likes me more.

Writing on Other Sites: I've Been Moonlighting Again
Do you remember Moonlighting, that 80's TV show with Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd? The title of this post just got me reminiscing, I was a big fan. Oh yeah.
![]() |

They were Detectives, in case that isn't apparent from the picture.
And I digress.
Hardly surpising then that I find I have 'excess thoughts' that end up on my PC without a home to go to. I mean, if I posted on WeezaFish as many times as I thought about posting on WeezaFish, well. Let's just say it would be hard to keep up. And you'd probably get bored or something.

Reading, Writing and Visitors from Overseas
Gee whiz it's been busy in our lives of late. And that busy-ness (not business) combined with my usual limited internet issues leaves not much space for blogworld. And I love Blogworld!
I know, it's not really a 'world' as such, just not sure how else to explain it. I love blogging, I love the blogs I read and the folks that write them. What would you call it? Blogworld ...?
I have SO much reading to do. And it's not like when you were at school, with a pile of reading to do that you're not that interested in. I have SO much reading to do written by people who's writing I love man. So it's more like that feeling you get when you're into a good book, and can't find the time to sit down with it.
I need to buy myself some serious MB's, make myself a big mug of tea and find the time to sit down and read, read, read. I can't wait!
It will have to wait for now though ...

Apologies for My Sporadic Blogging
As a Brit, I discovered the internet in the UK as it became popular in business in the 80’s. Pretty soon it was as widespread as we know and love it today, and I was quite happily online at home also. Using British Telecoms affordable Broadband options, it was never an issue to get online. In fact, when at home my PC was always online.
Here in SA they handle the internet a little differently. I have my suspicions that the Government are just trying to ensure that the masses don’t have free access to information. So good are the ANC Government here at confusing, befuddling and conning the people to keep themselves in power, despite how badly they run things. I think they worry that the internet may give all their voters the opportunity to see how it really is. And they don’t want that.
Internet is still something that’s controlled, limited and fairly expensive. Something easily accessible to the rich, but not for the everyday man.

Get Me, I Did a Guest Post!!
Ah me, it's another link for that other WeezaFish who writes elsewhere.
Actually, it's all me wherever I'm writing. I like the idea of having an 'Alter Ego' blog where I swear lots and talk about my sex life too much, but I just don't have the attention to detail that I think that would require. Meaning I'd forget which blog was which, and end up sharing something I really didn't mean to on Facebook to my family. With hilarious consequences .....
They used to use those three words at the end of nearly every TV Guide review of a comedy show in the UK. "This week, Tom's car breaks down again and he gets in trouble with the law. With hilarious consequences".
I digress.
I did a Guest Post, yay! My first ever. Okay, first time asked too so call me a Guest Post Slut if you want, but I couldn't say no.

What's Going on Over at WeezaFish?
You nearly got a post then, but I realised in writing it last week that I was all inspired by my recent addition to the Indie Chicks family and it was really more of an Indie Chicks thing, so I sent it to them.
They posted it today, yay! Go see, go see. Comment if you please (not afraid to just ask for your comments me).
AND now the lovely Elle of Thisismommyhood has asked me too, would I post to her site A Nervous Tic Motion! Jeepers, it feels nice to be asked. Elle's another great writer I admire in blog world, and I love her 'other' site. And man she's nice, I call her Lady Elle. She is a Lady.
I sent her something today, I hope to be linking you to it on her site soon.
But I don't want anybody worrying that these new found writing outlets of mine are going to turn WeezaFish into a blog of links to other sites where my actual writing is. So here's a list, a sneak preview if you will, of my upcoming posts to WeezaFish. Indie Chicks, Elle you're very lovely and cool and all that but you can't have them. Listen to me, talking like I'm some big shot now. Snicker.

Throw Your Hands Up at Me
"All the women, who are independent .. throw your hands up at me!"
(Hands in the air like you just don't care).
"My house, I bought it (I rent). My car, I bought it (I don't drive). My .. er ... la la, THROW YOUR HANDS UP AT ME!!"
No? Partying on my own here?
Ahem.
I've only been blogging for ... (let me just check) ... it'll be a year next month. Woo hoo! I'll let you know where the party's at. So, less than a year and the very cool and pretty awesome Chiara Mazzucco of Chiara Says contacts me and asks me if I would write a post for a new online magazine she's co-founded, The Indie Chicks which went live today. (Yay! Happy Going Live Day Indie Chicks! *CHINK*).

Normal Service Resuming Soon
I tried to be too clever you see, that's what happened.
I am trying to add Comment Luv to my blog, I ended up adding Intense Debate instead (intense, woo!) which I didn't want at all.
I've now deleted Intense Debate, and lost a few comments in doing so. Sorry if your comment has disappeared, it wasn't me I promise!
I shall struggle on in my attempts to add the luv to my comments, hopefully no more of your words will disappear whilst I do so.
Wish me luck!

I Heart Blogging
I've had a love of writing and books since I was a kid. I know, you've heard this one before but stay with me please, that's the point really - that we're all hearing these voices, reading their stories.
English was my strongest subject at school and I went on to study English Literature for a while (er, so I dropped out after the first year) at college.
In my, ahem ... somewhat short college life, I joined a Creative Writing class which as it turned out, just meant involvement in the college Rag Mag, "The Grapevine". And this all sounds a lot more impressive (yes, really) than it actually was.
But those were the days my friend! Finding witty comment to make on college life, laid out alongside hilarious Far Side cartoons. Hanging out with the arty writer crowd and their interesting hair styles.
It was a bit of a flop really. Surprising ey? I only remember us printing one edition but the point was, I had fun.
